I’m Pierre Habel, though some people know me as Pete. The PHurrowed Brow is my blog. After twenty-five years teaching Latin in public schools in Colorado, I retired from education and took up a role in managing cropland owned by family in western Kansas. I keep active in the Classics community in Colorado and give Latin instruction online, but the greater part of my professional time is spent learning and practicing the skills that will keep the farm together and producing wheat, sorghum, and corn. In leisure, I travel (especially by motorcycle, hike, read, and selectively view films. I enjoy time with family, cooking, visiting with friends, and writing. Prior to 2018, my posts were the product of my role as an educator and dealt with Latin and learning World Languages generally. Going forward, my work will be a more diverse reflection of my breadth of interests. (But there will always be Latin in it.)
I hope that what I post offers you some enjoyment and food for thought, and encourage you to comment or to contact me to share your views of my work.
